MS Information Technology

Programme Objective

The MS Information Technology programme aims to prepare students for careers in designing,
managing and reengineering information systems in corporations and public agencies. The curriculum includes four core courses followed by four electives forming an area of specialization. The programme has been designed such that all the course work is completed within the first two semesters of study; the remaining two years are spent on research, experiment design, testing and documentation. The curriculum offers three areas of specialization Enterprise Resource Planning, inter networking & Digital Communications, and Technology Management. In addition to stressing problem solving skills, the content of major courses is also designed to strengthen the students written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills that are critical to success in the information technology field. Knowledge of, and adherence to, professional standards of conduct are stressed throughout the programme.
Faculty members participate in a wide variety of professional development and scholarly activities in their efforts to provide high quality education in the dynamically changing IT playing field. The faculty, through significant service activities, also seeks to enhance the information technology ad computing professions, the academic community at large, and IM Sciences.
