MS Computer Science Programme

Programme Objectives

The MS-CS programme is designed in such a way that it is a second degree in the field of Computer Science. The MS Computer Science programme gives students the opportunity to further their knowledge in foundational and applied topics, preparing them for advanced industrial or research positions. The courses not only prepare the students for the industry but also would prepare those interested in pursuing their doctoral level degrees. The MS computer Science programme will enable the students to:

1. have a solid understanding of computational theory and foundational mathematics
2. have substantial exposure to advanced topics in software and computing systems, operating      systems and advanced architecture.
3. prepare students to conduct research in computer science with advanced training in selected areas
4. increase the opportunities for advanced positions in the computing profession.

Degree Requirements

The MS Computer Science programme spans over two years with a total of 4 semesters. The minimum credit hours shall be 30 with a minimum of 12 credit hours for the core courses and 6 credit hours for the thesis.
